
Suryoday Bharat Samachar Seva, Jammu : Under the guidance of Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. Uchit Singhal, the Business Development Unit (BDU) of Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has achieved another significant milestone in its efforts to elevate freight operations and commercial ties to new heights.
The sustained dialogue and strategic collaboration between the Jammu Division and M/s Sikri Farms—facilitated by the Business Development Unit—have yielded positive results.
As a result of this proactive partnership, the Business Development Unit (Jammu) today—April 18—officially announced the arrival in Anantnag of the first consignment of fertilizer, which was dispatched from Ambala via ‘piecemeal traffic.’ This achievement symbolizes the Railways’ commitment to providing accessible and convenient transportation solutions for small-scale traders and specialized products.
Highlighting the key features of this successful initiative :
- The consignment comprises a total of 1,200 bags of high-quality vermicompost fertilizer.
- The total weight of this entire consignment is approximately 60 tons.
- The cargo, having departed from Ambala, has successfully reached Anantnag (Kashmir).
M/s Sikri Farms has expressed deep satisfaction with the Railways’ prompt and efficient service. Encouragingly, the party has also affirmed its firm commitment to maintaining a continuous flow of goods along this route in the future and to further expanding its business operations through the railway network.
